my rendez-vous album came

[originally this twitter thread. all that is block quoted is from that account, with some minor additions that weren't able to fit within the world limit.]
it was so cute, and so wholesome, and so pretty, and hyunsik looked so damn happy, and my heart was trembling. the saturation was turned to the whole fucking max which made it all the more vibrant.
starting with sik in a dry landscape in an astronaut suit that would seem funny in any other situation, but for some reason did not here—it just felt artistic and meaningful. there were also these photobooth-formatted pictures, in those little unfoldable flaps inside the booklet, of him jumping, and i felt like exploding, for real. he looked so happy; that's my boy. i love him so much.
towards the end, the theme takes a rather psychedelic turn—warm, yet electric, pinks and purples with bright neon accessories. the lighting is an essential component here. it looks as if he's in another world. he landed on a mysterious, beautiful, undiscovered planet, perhaps. and it also had sunflowers: the same sunflowers as the beginning. those flowers seemed like a notable figure since the start; with the way he was holding them and the way yellow petals contrasted the cooler-tinted tones dominating most of the previous color scheme, it somewhat gave an impression of a meaningful symbol... which, i'm sure i have the 兴趣 go into a deeper analysis of at some point, but for now i just want to appreciate the rounded return to this object of focus. i think this is such a good photobook—all bias acknowledged.
the graphic design was also incredibly clean and fitting. it had a modern crispness that was very pleasant to the eye and juxtaposed especially smoothly with this concept. i think it's just lovely. i think it was also super lovely how, for half of the songs, hyunsik's name covered the credits from top to bottom—alone—in literally every category. and by 'super lovely,' i mean bluntly that it was, in fact, extremely sexy. i also saw that for dear love, the 'special chorus' was credited to cube trainees? omg... who?
anyway, my rendez-vous album came today. way earlier than expected! it's so mesmerizingly beautiful.i said i didn't want to get fingerprints on it and my sister offered me her gloves in utmost sincerity. i accepted. but then, it was hard to flip the pages, so i took them off. eventually, i ended up wiping off the cover with my shirt ever two minutes because fingerprints are so visible on it, since it's so shiny. speaking of flipping through it, even the photos made me emotional, oh my god.
i saw a package sitting on the table earlier and did not have a clue as to what it could be. it didn't even cross my mind it could be rendez-vous, since it was said to not arrive until the very end of april. it is the second week of april right now. and the way my heart filled when i unraveled the bubble wrap was indescribable, holy shit.
i was absolutely tearing the fuck up while unboxing it. because it's so... it is so gorgeous. i am so emotional. i was first greeted with speckles of stars across deep, comforting hues of navy—
on the cd, burned with an arrangement of other-worldly songs, including one of the best songs ever (black),the stickers are so precious. and the boarding pass ticket. and the passport case. the intrinsic yearning for cosmic travel, for an interstellar reach, for galactic love instilled in this album's contents is so touching to me. "flying to the star" is an absolutely perfect fit. even the lyrics complete it.
and on the back of the photocard, holding my whole universe, one of the best people ever (sik, himself).
i think the theme of this album is simply a stunner in on its own. and it's made whole in every aspect, with these astutely selected inclusions. it just feels so heartfelt, as well, knowing that this is completely and utterly him. this is hyunsik to the very core. because i've seen him talk about space. i've seen him express his adoration for the universe. i've seen how passionate he is, and that certain fervor is something that's shared within me, too. so this album probably means much more to my soul than i can realize to delineate. i don't even think i comprehend the full extent to which it influences me, at least not enough to do this sentient justice in english words.
i love space, and i love hyunsik. i love hyunsik and his music so, so much.
( + 我还是觉得我会永远舍不了得用这些 rendez-vous 贴纸或护照壳 T^T)
